Appearance In its natural form it just tends to adhere to whatever shadow is in range and stay in there. When in human form it generally looks pretty convincing, physically, except that it often tends to forget genitals(when naked or otherwise noticeable to others, anyway), its eyes are bright red, and its shadow frequently doesn't quite match up to it how it should. Stands at about 5'4" and fairly ambiguous in gender and tone of voice, and its hair is long and straight and very dark(usually loosely tied over a shoulder).
Abilities It's a weird shadow eldritch horror monster, so it sticks inside shadows and can feel most things in any shadows within its limited range(maybe a few hundred feet). It can form tentacles of surprising strength, and its shadows generally can't be harmed, though its human body is vulnerable on its own. It has a weird void space in its shadows that can store quite a few things. It can also shapeshift, either its entire body of specific limbs/etc.
About Cys generally pings for shadow/eldritch horror-y/monster type shit, but if you look hard enough you might see something human in there. Attempts to read its mind/mind control/etc will be met with something akin to throwing your sanity into the whispering darkness of space, or something equally horrifying? If you're much stronger than it, though, you might be able to reach the dormant "human" mind if you try hard enough. Good luck with that though.
